What we offer
NDIS
Personalised support that meets you where you are. From everyday activities to getting out in the community, our supports are built around your goals, interests and the things that matter to you.
Therapeutic Supports
A welcoming and supportive space to explore what matters to you. Our therapeutic supports include counselling and animal-assisted therapy, with an individual approach that puts you at the centre.
Group Programs
A relaxed and welcoming space to connect with others, explore shared interests and try something new. Our group programs are designed to build confidence, encourage connection and, most importantly, be something you genuinely enjoy being part of.
Disability Supports
Everyone is different, and the support you receive should reflect that. ELMSS provides flexible, person-centred support shaped around your interests, routines, goals and the areas where you would like more support. We currently welcome plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants.
1:1 Support
Our one-on-one support is flexible and shaped around what works for you. This might include support at home, getting out in the community, attending appointments, shopping, accessing activities or working on everyday skills and independence.
We know how important consistency can be when it comes to your support. Wherever possible, we aim to build a small team of support workers around you, giving you the opportunity to get to know the people you’ll be spending time with and feel comfortable with your supports.
While we can’t always guarantee the same worker for every shift, our goal is to provide familiar faces and a consistent team wherever we can.
Short-Term / Flexible Support
Not everyone needs ongoing support. Sometimes you might need a little extra help for a short period of time, while your usual supports are unavailable, or for something specific coming up.
Our short-term support offers the same personalised approach as our regular 1:1 support, without the need for an ongoing arrangement. We’ll take the time to understand what you need and, where possible, match you with a support worker who is suited to you.
Short-term support is subject to availability and can be discussed with our team to see if we’re the right fit for what you need.
Support for Children & Young People
We provide individualised support for children and young people, with their safety, wellbeing and comfort at the centre of everything we do.
Support is tailored to the individual and may include accessing the community, participating in activities and interests, building confidence and independence, developing everyday skills, and working towards their individual goals.
We understand that supporting children and young people comes with additional responsibilities. Before support begins, we work closely with parents and carers to understand the young person’s needs, routines, communication, risks and any relevant support requirements.
Appropriate supervision and staffing arrangements are considered as part of this process. Depending on the young person, the activity and the circumstances, this may include the involvement of a parent or carer, additional staffing, or other safeguards.
All supports involving children and young people are provided in accordance with our child safety policies, relevant screening requirements and applicable child safety obligations.
If you're considering support for a child or young person, we welcome a conversation with their parent or guardian before services commence.
Therapeutic Supports
Therapy doesn't have to look the same for everyone.
At ELMSS, we provide therapeutic support for children, young people and adults, with an approach that is shaped around the individual. We understand that sitting down and talking isn't always the easiest or most comfortable way to connect and that's okay.
Our therapeutic supports provide different ways to engage, including counselling, animal-assisted therapy and sand play therapy, with a focus on creating a space where you can feel comfortable, supported and able to be yourself.
Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child or someone you care for, we'll work with you to find an approach that suits your individual needs.
Our therapeutic services are available to eligible NDIS participants, as well as privately funded clients.
Sandplay Therapy
Sometimes it can be difficult to find the words for what we’re thinking or feeling. Sandplay provides another way to explore, express and communicate experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Using a sand tray and a collection of miniature figures and objects, individuals can create scenes, stories and representations at their own pace. There is no right or wrong way to engage with Sandplay, making it a gentle and flexible approach for people who may find traditional talk-based support difficult.
Sandplay can be particularly engaging for children and young people, while also offering adults an alternative way to explore emotions, experiences and challenges.
At ELMSS, Sandplay is facilitated by a qualified Social Worker with additional training in Sandplay and is tailored to the individual’s age, needs and circumstances.
Animal-Assisted Support
The presence of an animal can bring a sense of comfort, connection and calm, creating a different way to engage in therapeutic support.
Our animal-assisted sessions involve the gentle companionship of a canine companion, working alongside a qualified Social Worker to create a welcoming and supportive environment.
Sessions are tailored to each individual and may support emotional regulation, confidence, communication, social connection and engagement. For children, young people and adults who may find traditional talk-based approaches difficult, having a canine companion present can offer another way to connect and participate.
Before beginning animal-assisted support, we’ll talk with you about whether this approach is suitable, including any allergies, fears, sensory needs or other considerations.
Counselling
Sometimes having a safe space to talk, be heard and work through what’s happening can make all the difference.
Our counselling support provides a welcoming and non-judgemental space for children, young people and adults to explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences at their own pace.
Sessions are shaped around the individual and may support emotional wellbeing, confidence, relationships, life changes, difficult experiences or simply provide a space to talk with someone who will listen and support you.
We understand that opening up doesn’t always come easily. Our approach is gentle, person-centred and focused on creating a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself.
Counselling is available to NDIS participants where appropriate to their funded supports, as well as privately funded clients.
Groups & Programs
Our group programs bring children and adults together through shared interests, activities and experiences. Each program is designed to offer a relaxed, welcoming space where participants can connect, build confidence, develop skills and enjoy being part of something.
Groups may be available to plan-managed or self-managed NDIS participants and private-paying participants, depending on the program.
There are currently no groups running. Please check back soon or follow ELMSS on Facebook for upcoming programs, workshops and events.
